Ghanshyam Singh Birla (1941–2024)
Founder of the Birla Vedic Center and the Birla Vedic College of Palmistry, Ghanshyam was a world-renowned Vedic palmist-astrologer with more than fifty years of training and experience in Vedic palmistry.
Ghanshyam began learning the science of Vedic palmistry and astrology when he was a young boy from his paternal grandfather in India, who was himself a highly respected palmist, astrologer, and Ayurvedic healer. Ghanshyam wrote numerous textbooks on palmistry that are the foundation of the Birla College curriculum, including Luna: The Power of Perception, Venus: The Power of Love, Mars: Your Inner Warrior, and Jupiter: The Great Benefic—Tapping into Infinite Possibilities. He also received an honorary Ph.D. from the Council of Alternative Systems of Medicine, Calcutta, India, in recognition of his work in promoting alternative therapies.
Guylaine Vallée
Vedic Palmist and Astrologer, Teacher, and Media Personality
Guylaine has been practicing Vedic palmistry at the Birla Center since 1985. She has helped thousands of people through her counseling, teaching, and books. In 2015, Guylaine chronicled her life-changing experiences in her biography, The Happy Palmist: My Joyful Adventure in Vedic Palmistry. She is also the coauthor, with Kathleen E. Keogh, of The River of Life: An Unforgettable Journey Within. Guylaine teamed up with her mentor, Ghanshyam Singh Birla, in 2017 to create and host a series of online 90-Day Challenge programs that illustrate Vedic palmistry’s power as a tool for personal self-development.
Steve Erwin
Biographer, Documentarian, and Chief Writer
Steve is a writer and award-winning journalist who worked in print and broadcast media for twenty-five years in Canada and the United States. In New York City, he was a foreign correspondent for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, reporting on the 9/11 tragedy and its aftermath, as well as a national news and feature writer for People magazine. He has written seven books, including the New York Times bestselling memoir Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust, with Immaculée Ilibagiza, which has sold more than a million copies and has been translated into twenty-five languages. Steve has cowritten The Happy Palmist with Guylaine Vallée and has contributed to all of the Birla Center publications. He is presently writing the memoirs of Ghanshyam Singh Birla who affectionately referred to Steve as Bioji.
